STMA girls’ tennis played two very different matchups during the week; a 1-6 loss to Champlin Park and a 4-3 win over Rogers.
The Lady Knights had a competitive meetup with the Champlin Park Lady Rebels on Monday, but lost in every match but one. Rachel Jenkins and Brianna Woitalla, the #1 doubles team, got STMA’s lone victory, and the pair are now 7-3 on the year.
“Anytime you know you can count on a competitive match at a #1 position, you are lucky as a coach,” head coach Ryan Antony said.

ROGERS
The Knights bounced back with a 4-3 victory against Rogers the next day. STMA needed a win from the #3 doubles team (Ruthie Schultz and Meadow LaDuke) to clinch the meet on the final available point (1-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Cory Eull (6-2, 6-4), Emma Thole (7-5, 7-6) and Brooke Beck (6-1, 6-1) got STMA’s other three points with their victories.
STMA’s youth provided some major moments on the court as all three of the Knights’ middle school players got victories. Eull also played her best game of the season, Antony said.
