STMA girls swim off to winning start

The STMA Girls Swim and Dive team are off the a great start to the 2016 season.
The Lady Knights competed in their second Mississippi 8 conference meet of the season against Princeton Thursday, Sept. 15.

STMA Senior Captain Jenna Kocon wins the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:07.87.

The final score was 112 to 66 and which leaves the team with a 2-0 overall record for the season.
Individual Event Meet Highlights:
• Sophomore Emma Lezer won both the 200 yard freestyle and 100 yard butterfly events. Emma’s 200 yard freestyle time of 2:01.15 set a new pool record.
• Junior Jordyn Schnell won the 200 yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:27.85.
• Junior Julia Pieper won the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.78
• Senior Captain Olivia Lock won the 1 meter Diving Event with a score of 211 points
• Freshman Lucy Miller won the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 59.86
• 8th grader Faye Roberts won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:47.79

The next meet is a Home Meet versus Big Lake Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Middle School East pool.
