Knights boys snap 4-game losing streak in finale

STMA lost to Monticello 3-0 before beating St. Francis 5-0.

The Knights got shut out by the Monticello Magic, extending their losing streak to four games.

Monticello’s Diego Renderos, Jacob Meierhofer and Cesar Moloy scored goals against the Knights to take home a 3-0 victory. The loss dropped the Knights to 5-10 on the season.

ST. FRANCIS

The Knights came out on Senior Night and dominated the St. Francis Saints in a 5-0 victory to close out the regular season, snapping a four-game losing streak in the process.

Five different STMA players scored on the evening. Zack Bracken had a goal on four shots, Conner Rose had a goal on two shots, Tanner Sorem had three shots and scored a goal, Max Marron had three shots and scored a goal, and Jacob Munson rounded out the scoring on his only shot of the night.

Joe Eicher got the start in net and got the shutout.

Knights assistant coach Tyler Hett said that the seniors deserve a lot of credit for their leadership.

“They have done an amazing job leading this team through kind of a tough patch in the season the last week and then ending here on Senior Night with a big 5-0 win,” Hett said.

The Knights play at Rogers on Thursday in the first round of the section tournament.
