STMA went 2-0-1 in the final three games of the regular season, defeating Monticello 4-0, Cambridge Isanti 6-2, and tying St. Francis 2-2 in the finale.
The Knights got two goals from Makenzie Langdok as her solid season continued in a 4-0 win over the Monticello Magic in the final regular home game of the 2015 season. STMA celebrated Senior Night with the victory.
Camryn Crandall picked up a goal for the Knights as did senior Leah Johnson. Savana Phengmany got the shutout win in goal for STMA.
Senior defender Sydney Tracy said that the Knights have worked hard on achieving goals and getting to where they want to be.
“We’re just trying to pick it up a little bit, get our winning streak going as we head into sections,” Tracy said.
CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI
The Knights went on the road for an afternoon make-up game against the Blue Jackets on a rare Wednesday game day.
Langdok scored a hat trick to lead the way in a 6-2 victory for the Knights. The Blue Jackets managed to snap a three-game shutout streak by STMA despite losing.
Leah Johnson tallied for the Knights as did Addie Johnson. Crandall added a goal for STMA. Assists went to Carly Gamrath, Izzy Ferrozzo, Hailey Holister, Crandall and Langdok.
ST. FRANCIS
The Knights tied the St. Francis Saints to end the regular season.
Both STMA goals came courtesy of Leah Johnson, and both came in the first half as the Knights took a 2-1 lead into halftime. Langdok assisted on one of Johnson’s scores.
The Saints got a goal in the second half and neither team could put a third, decisive goal home. The tie meant the Knights went seven games without a loss (5-0-2) to finish the regular season.
STMA plays Buffalo Thursday in the first round of the section playoffs.
