The STMA Lady Knights basketball team got to 14 wins on the season with victories over Rogers and Princeton.

Rae Johnson had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, but sophomore guard Jadyn Hanson led the team in scoring with 19 points in a big win. Makenzie Kramer added 11 points.

Despite being down Lizzy Heil again, the Knights collected 20 more rebounds than the Royals (35-15) in the contest.

STMA led 31-19 at the break and the defense held, forcing 20 Royals turnovers. Whitney Dold proved to be a master thief with six steals and also had five assists and a block.

PRINCETON

STMA started fast and never looked back in a 78-36 rout of Princeton on Friday night.

The Knights jumped out to a 20-4 lead in the first half and kept building until the lead reached 51-22 by the end of the half.

Defense was again key for the Knights as they forced 26 turnovers from the Tigers. Whitney Dold had five of those steals. STMA held Princeton to just 14 points in the second half.

Rae Johnson led the Knights with 27 points, six rebounds and six assists. Kendal Cox scored 10 points, Makenzie Kramer had nine and Riley Carlson had eight.

“Tonight, the way we started the game was exactly what we need to start doing on a consistent basis,” head coach Kent Hamre said, noting how Heil’s absence affected the lineup.

“I feel that our team is really coming together,” senior forward Addie Johnson said.

The Lady Knights played at North Branch Tuesday night. They host Chisago Lakes on Friday night.
