The Lady Knights soccer team picked up another pair of wins on the season with a 5-2 win over the Chisago Lakes Wildcats and a 2-0 win over Apple Valley.
Against Chisago Lakes Thursday night, the Knights grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first half. In the second half, the Wildcats got two goals back, but the Knights recovered, scoring a pair late in the half to take the game.
Head coach Megan Johnson said that the game provided a valuable lesson to the team.
“We had some breakdown communication, we kind of let down, and we needed to just collectively come back as a team, and they did that,” Johnson said.
APPLE VALLEY
The Knights got a hard-fought 2-0 win against the Apple Valley Eagles on Saturday on the road.
The goals each came in a half. Tori Jensen scored the opening goal of the first half, and she got an assist on Makenzie Langdok’s goal in the second half with six minutes remaining in the game. The STMA defense stymied the Eagles for the win.
The Lady Knights played against Cambridge-Isanti Tuesday and resume play against the Royals at Rogers on Thursday before playing at Maple Grove on Saturday.
