The Knights got their win streak to 11 games before Monticello snapped it. The Knights also lost to Brainerd over the weekend.
STMA won its eleventh straight game against the Princeton Tigers on Tuesday, 10-6.
The Knights took advantage of six Princeton errors to rally from an early 2-0 deficit. Jacob Brown went 2-3 with two RBI, and Will Berning pitched five innings to pick up the win.
STMA picked up four runs in the fourth inning, three in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
MONTICELLO
The Monticello Magic brought an end to STMA’s winning streak on Thursday with a 5-4 win in extra innings.
Monticello grabbed a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning and then added three runs in the sixth inning.
STMA rallied for four runs in the seventh inning. Jack Fiedler drove in three of the runs for the Knights.
In extra innings, the Magic got a walk-off single. Kyle Hayden took the loss.
BRAINERD
The Warriors got off to a quick start with two runs in the first and two more runs in the second inning. STMA managed a brief comeback, but never got closer than a run. Jack Kelly and Levi Falde each had two hits, and the Knights out-hit Brainerd 10 to eight, but the Warriors got the runs they needed to take the victory and hand STMA a second straight loss.
Travis Brown went six innings for the Knights in the loss.
The Knights played Rogers Tuesday and Osseo Wednesday. They play Maple Grove Friday.
