Isaiah Weston set a new long jump mark (22-07) at the Ed Bourelle Invitational as both Knights track teams won the meet. Anna Keefer broke the girls’ mark in the same event (18-08). STMA also sent some athletes to the Hamline Elite Meet later in the week.
Aside from the long jump, Keefer won the triple jump (36-09), the 100 meter dash (12.65) and the 200 meter dash (26.54). Weston’s performance included a win in the high jump event (6-06).
The STMA boys got wins from Connor Cahill in the 300 meter hurdles (43.11), the 4×200 meter relay (1:33.51), Mike Bury in the pole vault (12-06), and Jacob Munson in the triple jump (42-08). Several finishes in the top three helped propel the Knights to a win.
For the girls, STMA saw victories from Paige Joslyn in the 300 meter hurdles (49.08), the 4×400 relay team (4:14.92), the 4×800 relay team (9:51.15), and Grace Steffens in the pole vault (9-06). Like the boys, several athlete finishes in the top three helped the Lady Knights to victory.
HAMLINE
Anna Keefer and Isaiah Weston shone among the elite at the 2016 Hamline Elite Meet at Hamline University.
Keefer and her 4×100 meter relay partners (Cherish Witherspoon, Whitney Perry, Katelyn Tschida) won, but narrowly missed setting a new meet record (48.77).
Keefer also won the long jump (17-07.75) for the Knights.
Isaiah Weston missed tying the meet mark in a long jump victory (23-03). He also finished third in the 110 meter hurdles.
The Knights traveled to Lindstrom for a conference meet before heading out on the road for the Dakota Relays in Sioux Falls, South Dakota over the weekend.
