STMA girls swim/dive continues undefeated

STMA senior captain and diver Olivia Lock takes second in 1 meter diving event at the Buffalo meet with a score of 206.60.

The STMA Girls Swim and Dive team continues its undefeated season.

The Lady Knights beat Buffalo with a final score of 108 to 77 Oct. 13 in Buffalo.

Individual Meet Highlights include:

Senior Captain Maddie Gallagher took first place in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.65.

Freshman Kelsey Kocon won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:21.09.

Junior Jordyn Schnell won the 50 yard free with at time of 26.31.

Sophomore Emma Lezer took first in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 58.98.

Junior Jordyn Schnell won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:52.37.

Freshman Kelsey Kocon took first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.70.

Sophomore Emma Lezer took first in the 100 yard breast stroke and broke the Buffalo pool record with a time of 1:07.09.

Meet Relay Highlights include:

The relay team of Freshman Kelsey Kocon, Sophomore Emma Lezer, Junior Kristen Pieper and Junior Jordyn Schnell won the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:54.61. The relay team of Senior Captain Jenna Kocon, Eighth Grader Faye Roberts, Senior Captain Maddie Gallagher and Sophomore Emma Lezer won the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:46.16.

Monticello

The STMA Girls Swim and Dive team ended its dual meet season with a victory over the Monticello Magic. The Lady Knights won by a score of 100 to 81 and captured the Mississippi 8 Conference title for the sixth season in a row with a perfect 7-0 record.

Individual Meet Highlights include:

Freshman Ashton Hobza took first place in both the 200 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle with a time of 2:06.15 and 5:44.35 respectively.

Sophomore Emma Lezer won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:10.03. Emma also won the 100 yard breast stroke with a time of 1:06.16.

Junior Jordyn Schnell took first in both the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.24 and the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 55.64.

Senior Captain Jenna Kocon won the 100yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.40.

Freshman Kelsey Kocon took first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.50.

The relay team of Freshman Kelsey Kocon, Sophomore Emma Lezer, Freshman Taylor Ripplinger and Junior Jordyn Schnell won the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.45. The relay team of Eighth Grader Faye Roberts, Freshman Ashton Hobza, Senior Captain Maddie Gallagher and Junior Jordyn Schnell took first in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:44.42. The relay team of Senior Captain Maddie Gallagher, Freshman Kelsey Kocon, Freshman Ashton Hobza and Sophomore Emma Lezer won the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:55.13.

The JV Conference Championship Swim Meet will be Friday, Oct. 28, at Middle School East beginning at 5 p.m.
