The Lady Knights won their first two section games; a 5-0 rout of Elk River Thursday night and a 2-0 win over Moorhead on Saturday night.

STMA had a big first half against the Elks on Thursday and rode it to a victory.

Karley Mager, Makenzie Langdok and Tori Jensen (2) led the charge in the first 40 minutes. STMA got another goal in the second half to cap the scoring and cruise to a victory.

Head coach Megan Johnson said that the Knights had to work out some nerves because Elk River was a strong eight seed.

“Once we kind of worked things out, the girls really played an incredible game. They passed well, they finished well, really proud of their effort tonight.”

MOORHEAD

The Lady Knights got another shutout victory on Saturday over the Moorhead Spuds to advance to the section championship game against Rogers.

Tori Jensen and Makenzie Langdok scored for the Knights in the contest, and they held off the Spuds in a 2-0 win.

The Lady Knights played Rogers in the section title game Tuesday night. The winner qualified for the state tournament.
