The Knights boys soccer team defeated the North Branch Vikings 6-0 on Thursday before losing 6-0 to the Maple Grove Crimson on Saturday.
STMA got off to a very quick start against North Branch, as Alex Krumenauer scored within the first 30 seconds of the game.
Max Marron extended STMA’s lead with a goal and then Tanner Sorem scored to make the score 3-0 at the end of the first half.
Tanner Songstad opened the second half with a goal to make the score 4-0. The shots on goal kept piling up for the Knights, and Jude Riley punched home his first varsity goal to extend the lead to 5-0.
Marron scored the last goal of the night, his second of the game to make the final score 6-0.
“I think the score says it all, that we could finish and close out today. So, a lot of good cohesiveness, great first home game to start out a good conference season,” head coach Tomas Rodriguez said.
MAPLE GROVE
The Knights went on the road for a tough test against the Maple Grove Crimson on Saturday. STMA lost 6-0. Jeff Clune had a hat trick for the Crimson. STMA took its second loss of the season, and its record stands at 2-2.
The Knights played at Chisago Lakes on Tuesday night. They continue Thursday against Princeton and Saturday at Moorhead.
