STMA’s record dropped three games below .500 after a 9-6 loss to Spring Lake Park on Monday, a 7-2 loss to St. Cloud Tech on Thursday and a 12-2 loss under the lights at Rogers on Friday.
Riley Carlson pitched all seven innings for the Knights and gave up nine runs in a loss to Spring Lake Park.
Paige Falde knocked in two runs for the Knights with a triple. Lexy Fuerstenberg, Katie Bierstedt, and Elle Potts doubled for STMA.
Bierstedt, Potts and Allison Ross drove in the other runs in the loss.
The Lady Knights dropped their next game to St. Cloud Tech 7-2.
ROGERS
STMA played a close contest with Rogers before a big sixth inning led to a 12-2 final score Friday evening in Rogers.
Riley Carlson went 2-3 and drove in one of STMA’s pair of runs on the night. Elli Anderson had four RBI for the Royals.
The Knights trailed 4-2, but never got closer as the Royals added a run in the fourth and scored seven times in the sixth to end the game on a mercy rule.
Head coach Kellie Shumway said that the team had a hard time in the windy conditions.
“It was a 4-2, 5-2 game for most of it; we had some plays that just didn’t go our way. The wind helped out Rogers way more than it helped us tonight,” Shumway said.
The Knights had one more home game against Big Lake on Tuesday. STMA closes out the regular season at Buffalo on Thursday and at St. Francis on Friday.
