Lindsay Finnerty scored the game’s first goal in the second period (Alana Achterkirch), but Buffalo’s Taylor Thompson evened things up (Jordan Wurm) in the next minute.

Alana Achterkirch scored the eventual game-winning goal in the third period. Greta Stanton added another on the power play (L. Finnerty) as the River Hawks took the win.

LITCHFIELD/D-C

The River Hawks scored a pair of power-play goals in the second period to beat Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato on Friday.

The goals came courtesy of Molly Young (Peyton Allen, Lindsay Finnerty), and Lindsay Finnerty (Allen, Young). Sidney Schreiner saved 22 shots to earn the shutout win.

DODGE COUNTY

The River Hawks ended the week with a Saturday evening 4-1 loss against Dodge County.

North Wright County never got into a rhythm offensively against Dodge County, who outshot the River Hawks 34-7.

Bella Wagner scored first for Dodge County in the opening period (Magdalyn Wick). Molly Shelton scored the next two (Wagner, Katie Robinson) and Dodge County led 3-0 after the first period.

Alana Achterkirch tallied the lone goal for the River Hawks in the second period (Lindsay Finnerty). Wagner scored her second of the game to cap off the scoring in the third (Barret Boyer).

Head coach Jason Johnson said that he knew that Dodge County would create a lot of chances for themselves.

“I thought we were okay (in the first), except for three plays, and all three of them ended up in the back of our net,” Johnson said.

The River Hawks stay home for a matchup against the Princeton Tigers on Thursday and the Roseau Rams on Friday.
