The Albertville City Council approved the tentative schedule for the ice arena project at its Monday, Dec. 7, meeting.
The joint powers overseeing the project will have a committee with two representatives, along with two people from youth hockey and one high school hockey representative. The city administrator and Councilor Larry Sorenson will sit on the committee.
The council also discussed issues of transparency in response to some community concerns. The project information is available on the city website, and the city plans to update the project as it progresses.
The councilors emphasized there are no actual numbers right now. The $8 million is an estimated cost, and the plan is not to exceed this cost.
More information will be in next week’s paper and online at sunpressnews.com.
